"Distraction"

Distraction served a tasty meal
right before the feast
The bounty of the satisfied
now seated with the least
Hunger lingers in the air
and anger cries amidst the stares

Dining in deceit
Who'll wash another's feet
platters waiting - now served cold
Hunger moves again among the bold
such drink could not be sweeter
though sipped from the alter of pain

So long a line for service
why was it they came
This poison I shant drink
dancing on distraction's brink
Better to starve
than with deceit do dine
Better to thirst
awaiting the TRUE WINE
